Our Guests the Dolls
by Tei Kyoku Cho

From the land of the stars,
Rocking and rolling,
In golden ships,
In silver ships,
Come the dolls our guests.
Step right this way,
Our little friends,
Under the flowering cherry trees,
Let' spread red blankets
On the ground and play.

Let's have a great big feast
Of snowy rice boiled soft,
Let's play blind-man's-bluff,
On the hillside over there,
Let's play hide-and-seek--
Jan-ken-poi!
Aiko-de-hoi!
Oh, lovely dolls,
Our little friends!
Oh, lovely dolls,
Our little friends!

(An English version of the song which won the first prize offered by the Osaka Asahi.)
